Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 June 2026
Pattiny is built to keep your data yours. We run no servers of our own and hold none of your moment-logging data. This policy explains, in plain language, where your data lives, what the website does and does not collect, and the rights you have. The operator and data controller is Die Digitalen GmbH, Rautistrasse 60, CH-8048 Zürich, Switzerland. You can reach us any time at hello@pattiny.app.
The short version
We do not have a backend. We do not have a Pattiny account or login. We store none of your lists, entries, or notes. Your app data stays on your device and syncs only through your own private Apple iCloud account. The Pattiny website sets no tracking cookies and uses no analytics. On-device AI runs on your device, and nothing leaves it. You can export and delete everything yourself, directly in the app.
Who we are
Pattiny is made by Die Digitalen GmbH, Rautistrasse 60, CH-8048 Zürich, Switzerland. For any privacy question, write to hello@pattiny.app. Because we hold no user data and operate no servers, most data questions are answered by the in-app export and delete tools described below. We are still glad to help.
Your app data and where it lives
Everything you create in Pattiny — your lists, colour entries, optional names, notes, context or trigger tags, and dates — is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. If you are signed into iCloud, this data syncs automatically across your own Apple devices using Apple iCloud (CloudKit), held in your own private iCloud account and encrypted by Apple. We never see it and have no access to it. There is no Pattiny account, no sign-up, and no password. If you are not signed into iCloud, the app works fully on your device and nothing is synced anywhere.
What the website collects
The Pattiny marketing and support website at pattiny.app sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics. We do not profile visitors and we do not embed third-party trackers. Like any website, our hosting provider may process basic technical request data (such as your IP address) for the short time needed to deliver the page and to keep the service secure and stable. We do not use this to identify or track you. If you email us, we process your message and address only to reply to you.
On-device intelligence
Pattiny Plus can produce weekly and monthly summaries of your own logs. These are generated on your device using Apple Intelligence, with a deterministic fallback when on-device AI is unavailable. Your content is not sent to us or to any third party for this. Nothing leaves your device. The optional Face ID or Touch ID lock is handled locally by your device; we never receive your biometric data.
Payments and subscriptions
Pattiny Plus is sold as a subscription through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the purchase and any billing. We never see your card or payment details. Managing, cancelling, or requesting a refund for your subscription happens through your Apple account and the App Store. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
The role of Apple
Apple acts as the provider of iCloud (where your synced app data lives) and of the App Store (where Pattiny is distributed and Plus is billed). When you use iCloud sync or buy a subscription, Apple processes the related data under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. We are not party to that processing and cannot access your iCloud contents.
Shared lists
With Pattiny Plus you can invite other people to a shared list as a Contributor or a Viewer. Sharing is set up through Apple's iCloud and system share sheet, and the shared data lives in iCloud. People you invite can see the entries in that shared list. Invite only people you trust, and remove access through the app when you no longer want to share. We do not see or store the contents of shared lists.
Your rights
Under the EU/EEA General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/DSGVO) and the Swiss revised Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP), you have rights to access, correct, export, and delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Because your app data sits in your own device and iCloud, you exercise most of these rights directly and immediately: export everything from inside the app as a ZIP of CSV files, and use the in-app delete to remove entries or erase everything. You can also remove the app and delete its iCloud data from your Apple settings. For anything we hold (for example, an email you sent us), contact hello@pattiny.app. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; in Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Children
Pattiny is not directed at children and is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and in any case we hold no user content. If a child uses the app, their data stays on their device and in the iCloud account in use, exactly as described above.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and publish the new version at pattiny.app. Material changes will be made clear. Continuing to use Pattiny after an update means the revised policy applies.
